Heat
Not yummy sexual heat that we read about. Nope, just hot, blazing sun. I’ve been back home in lovely Barbados for one week and I’ve taken no less than 20 showers. And as I’m writing this, I feel the urge to take another one. lol
My navel string is buried here (local speak for this is where I was born) but my body chemistry (funny how I can’t leave that word alone. hehe) adapted to cold weather and it seems determined to stay that way.
I would go to the beach to cool off but I bought three fabulous swimsuits that didn’t arrive when I did. I refuse to go the the beach without one of them when I’ve been looking forward to it all year. My delayed baggage should arrive on the flight today, so I’ll be hitting beach this weekend.
I’ll probably take a dip in one of the tide pools on the East Coast after a walk on the sand.
Or maybe a beach on the West Coast…
It’s an island. The choices are multiple. Fingers crossed I get my bag!
Lucas and Zachary over at International Heat
Pop over to the International Heat blog. I’ve posted a snippet from Luc and Zach’s story.
Round up time!
Fellow International Heat member Vivian Arend is rounding up the cowboys at Six Pack Ranch, where learning to live again takes some sensual twists.
Rocky Mountain Haven, book two in the Six Pack Ranch series, is available now here!
Beth Danube has escaped to a small Alberta town to make a new start for herself and her three little boys. Her emotionally abusive husband may be dead and buried, but so is her heart. What she doesn’t want is another man in her life—not now, maybe not ever. Yet when her libido reawakens after ten years of unsatisfactory sex in the missionary position is any woman strong enough to turn down sex-in-boots, Daniel Coleman?
The middle child of the rowdy Coleman boys, Daniel’s the quiet one who has always subdued his desires and acted as peacemaker. His powerful attraction to the young widow takes him by storm, and he’s willing to pursue her until they both find satisfaction—in and out of the bedroom.
Only Beth isn’t sure she’s ready to cross the line. Becoming friends with blazing hot benefits means she’s still the one in control. Letting her heart trust again? She isn’t that brave—or foolish. Daniel is going to have to be mighty convincing to help her overcome the past.

The Sequel–was it good for you?
I confess right now that I have a secondary character fetish. That’s one of the reasons I love sequels. However, I am beyond picky. I like book 1 to END. I want the sequel to be a possibility not shoved down my throat by leaving major things hanging. Nothing pisses me off more.
It’s no secret that Special Delivery by Heidi Cullinan is one of my favorite books. Ever. While I was basking in the just-finished-awesome-book afterglow, I emailed Heidi to gush and to ask if maybe there would be a story about Randy. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I found out there would be a sequel and not forever away, but soon!
Oh, Randy, how I love you.
I pre-ordered Double Blind and stalked my Downloads page at Dreamspinner so I could download it the second it was available. That paid off.
I started the story with no expectations (I didn’t read the blurb or excerpt. That it was Randy’s story was enough to sell me). Even without concrete expectations of what Randy’s story would be, there was always a chance I would be disappointed.
I was blown away from Chapter 1.
Randy is such a complex character and Heidi plumbed his depths (no pun intended. Really! hehe) brilliantly. His partner Ethan was also multi-faceted, more than even he knew himself. And if that pairing wasn’t enough (and it was), Sam and Mitch made cameos. I was in heaven! Who knew there was more of their story to be told? But there was and she did, and it didn’t overwhelm or take away from Randy and Ethan, it just fit seamlessly. Is my awe showing? Jeez. Sorry about that.
So, if you read Special Delivery and didn’t know there’s a sequel, there is! And if you haven’t read it, this must your first visit to my blog. Welcome! Now go get them both here.
Have you read a sequel that lived up to the no-way-can-this-be-outdone first book? You did
Then, tell me
