Happy New Year!

I’ve been woefully absent from cyberspace and I wish I could say I would do better this year but it’s not likely. Life is beyond busy. Luckily, reading is something that can be done most everywhere and in every minuscule slice of free time (right before passing out cold at the end of the day usually). It’s especially rewarding when you do prop your eyes open to start a book and it’s worth the effort. *happy sigh*

Getting to the point, i.e. my first book recommendation of 2011…Ashlyn Kane‘s American Love Songs. Loved loved loved loved LOVED this story. Everyone should read it. Why? Because I say so, of course. :D Okay, seriously not just because I said so. American Love Songs is an excellent love story and it has rockstars! (Yes, they’re one of my few weaknesses but OMG. It’s soooo good.) This one is done a little differently, as you’ll be able to tell if you read the excerpt here—there are short blog entries like that throughout the story—and it’s brilliant! Click the cover to check it out.

Slow Burn reviews

Marc over at Just Erotic Romance Reviews and Elise over at Sensual Reads reviewed Slow Burn. YAY! :D

Marc said, “J.R Patrick did a good job of developing the intimacy between Marc and Zach. The inconsequential things that she managed to blend into the book, like Marcus braiding Zach’s hair, went a long way to developing a legitimate link between the men beyond sex.”

Elise said, “J.R. Patrick takes us for a Slow Burn as two lovers take their heat levels higher and higher.”

You can read their full reviews here and here.

Countdown to Christmas free read

The International Heat authors are writing a Countdown to Christmas story. Each day one of us will add the next installment.

On December 23, we hand the reins over to you. We’re asking the readers to create The End to our story. On Dec. 30, the IHers will choose the best ending and that reader will win the grand prize. What’s the grand prize? A ton of ebooks from us!

It started a few days ago with Rhian Cahill, followed by Lexxie Couper and Jayne Rylon. Today, it was my turn. Two someones got shoved out of the closet. ;) Check it out here.

It’s getting hot in here!

Mom sister of my heart Jambrea’s Ellora’s Cave Quickie is out today! Steamy Reunion is hot AND it has a fairy gay father. I know! lol. You have to read it to find out what that’s all about. Below is the blurbage and buy link.

Ambrose Firth hated high school, so why is he contemplating going to his fifteen-year reunion? One name—Noah Winters. Noah stars in many of Ambrose’s wet dreams, but the man was a jock, and in high school, Ambrose was a geek. Not anymore. But he isn’t dating anyone either. Not wanting to seem desperate, he does what any self-respecting gay man would—he hires an escort.

Noah is everything Ambrose remembered—and then some. With a little push from his “date”, Ambrose determines to decipher the mixed messages Noah’ s been sending all night. Imagine Ambrose’s surprise when Noah can’t keep his hands off him. But Ambrose wants more than just a romp. Noah better hold on for a steamy reunion.

The day job has been keeping me ridiculously busy but thankfully, I sneaked in a read or two over the past few weeks. Three books knocked me over and I still can’t get up. So good!

The Trap

I can’t think about David and Ethan with sighing. Happily of course. I was bummed when I checked out Indigo Wren’s website and realized I have to wait for new material.

Need. More. Now.

Hurry up, lady! :D

Mastering Toby and Sahara Blue

Open letter to Jan Irving

Dear Jan,

Loved Jared and Toby. Loved Sahara and Seth. All I have to say now is…

Jai. Gecko. ASAP!  Together or separate. I don’t care.

Oh! And Officer Martinez called. He doesn’t care who he gets but he wants a HEA too. He’s sure you can help him out. ;)

Reviewtopia!

What do you mean that’s not a word? ;)

Last week was a great review week for Slow Burn.

Here’s a snippet from Sweet Pea’s review.

These two characters had me riveted the minute I started the book. I love how the chemistry just seemed to burn between them. They both had so much in common which made it easy to see why they fell so hard so fast. This was a great quick read. Read the full review.

I finally read Mary Calmes’ A Matter of Time series. I know! I need a rap on the knuckles. In my defense, when I first heard about the series, I read very few 1st person pov stories (they were just harder to read somehow but now I can’t get enough of them). Back to the point. A Matter of Time is a phenomenal series. I love Jory. He is such a rich character. I spent most of book four laughing my ass off. I feel about him the way I do about Josh Lanyon’s Adrien English. They are totally different characters but they have the exact same effect on me. Love them to bits.

The other book that knocked by socks off is Jan Irving’s Jesse. I want to have Jan’s babies. I hope she doesn’t mind. hehe

Clicking on the covers will take you to the publisher’s page if you want to check out the books.

What did you read and love lately?

Another review-Slow Burn

Forget the toes. Both feet are twitching now. hehe
