I’ve been woefully absent from cyberspace and I wish I could say I would do better this year but it’s not likely. Life is beyond busy. Luckily, reading is something that can be done most everywhere and in every minuscule slice of free time (right before passing out cold at the end of the day usually). It’s especially rewarding when you do prop your eyes open to start a book and it’s worth the effort. *happy sigh*

Getting to the point, i.e. my first book recommendation of 2011…Ashlyn Kane‘s American Love Songs. Loved loved loved loved LOVED this story. Everyone should read it. Why? Because I say so, of course. Okay, seriously not just because I said so. American Love Songs is an excellent love story and it has rockstars! (Yes, they’re one of my few weaknesses but OMG. It’s soooo good.) This one is done a little differently, as you’ll be able to tell if you read the excerpt here—there are short blog entries like that throughout the story—and it’s brilliant! Marc said, “J.R Patrick did a good job of developing the intimacy between Marc and Zach. The inconsequential things that she managed to blend into the book, like Marcus braiding Zach’s hair, went a long way to developing a legitimate link between the men beyond sex.”

These two characters had me riveted the minute I started the book. I love how the chemistry just seemed to burn between them. They both had so much in common which made it easy to see why they fell so hard so fast. This was a great quick read. Read the full review.
